Found this coin in a lot I just recently purchased.
Looks to be Spanish. Has what appears to be solder, shape is con-caved like a button.
Any ideas what it might be?

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

i believe it is a castle on one side and i lion on another, that's a common theme with old spanish coins.

Philippus III the king of Spain. Tell me the size and I tell you the face value. Now I can say that it's 2-, 4-, or 8 maravedis only. Something like this.

It's a 4 maravedis. I added a link above. Minted coin at 3.29 grams and 18mm. A worn flattened coin could easily go to 3g and 20mm.

If it has solder and is concave in shape like a button, it probably was used as a button.
