    Hello.

I picked up this coin today from an antique show, out of a guys scrap gold tub. I have no idea of its age or where it's from. It weighs around 3.5g and I would be greatful of any help please. I'm just happy I saved it from being melted.

I am also not an expert on these, but this coin is definitely later than the 13th century.
The basic design is that of Krishna Devaraja of Vijayanagar (South India). However it is to crude for this.
Most likely this is a gold pagoda of the Nayakas of Chitradurga. They were a Vijayanagar feudatory who copied this coinage as the power of the Vijayanagar empire declined. An original would be from the 17th century.
Note however, that there are lots of modern copies of these sold to tourists.
