It was a quick guess, kind of looked like DN A--- on the obverse, but it could also be Honorius I suppose. Most of the coins of that type are hemleted and facing busts, so it might be quicker to track it down by diademed.
A bit off-topic, but @Makanudo, your profile pic is outstanding! Is that a Serbian coin or a medallion as I am not familiar with that particular one.
I am glad you like it @Quant.Geek . Its serbian medieval coin, You can find a bit more info on the coin here: https://collectgram.com/item/corona.../serbian-empire/coin/5a1e9ead0c4e853c375f11ce
That particular dinar of Stefan Uroš IV Dušan is one that I wasn't aware of. Now I got to find it! Here is one from my collection: Serbia: Stefan Uroš V (1355-71) AR Dinar (Dobrinic-8.1.2; Dimitrijevic-39) Obv: Stefan enthroned facing, holding cross-tipped sceptre and akakia; Legend on either side - UШb - Чb Rev: Helmet facing left with crest; Legend around - VROSIVS I MPERATOR
@Quant.Geek Your coin is a great piece. Very well preserved. My avatar photo is however a large 3D plate replica of this coin and it hangs on the wall in my room. P.S. I wish I had this coin.
I wouldn't mind getting a picture of that 3D replica! It looks awesome! I have a soft spot for coinage of Serbia, Bulgaria, Georgia, and the Byzantine Empire...
Here are photos of my gipsum coin @Quant.Geek . Unfortunatelly, reverse is chipped so its not on the wall. If you would like to have a HD photo of my avatar pic just pm me. Cheers
