There are many dates with Morgan's that are considered key or semi-key dates. However, Morgan's are heavily counterfeited because of their popularity and value so be very careful when buying raw key dates. Here is what I consider key and semi-key dates for the Morgan series (not including proofs...all proofs are very rare, 1895 is the most valuable proof):

Key

1881-CC

1884-S (only in MS grades, common in AU or lower)

1885-CC

1886-O (only in high MS grades, common in low MS or lower).

1889-CC

1893

1893-CC

1893-O

1893-S (key of whole set)

1894

1895-O

1895-S

1901 (only in MS grades or higher, common in AU or lower)

Semi-Key

1878-CC

1879-CC

1880-CC

1882-CC

1883-CC

1884-CC

1888-S

1890-CC

1891-CC

1892-CC

1894-O

1894-S

1896-S

1899

1902-S

1903-O

1903-S

1904-S

Now, this is quite a list. I'm sure I could cut it down quite a bit as some "semi-keys" are worth quite a bit more than others. But, this is just my opinion of what the keys are semi keys are. If you want a list or true critical key coins for the set...I can narrow it down to three because three are leaps and bounds more valuable than the rest. Those are 1889-CC, 1893-S, and 1894.
