    That is a phenomenal portrait on the OP, congrats! Love the reverse too - such a nifty type.

    Here's my A Pi as Caesar, which is one of my favourite portrait coins:

    There was an obverse die match in the most recent Leu auction, which taught me that the wonky legend is on the die, it isn't damage to the coin. Clearly not the same engraver as the portrait! (Perhaps how Kevin got his start.)

    I just got this Genio Senatus, I'm hoping it's possible to deal with the ugly spots on the obverse:

    And finally, since the Liberalitas scenes showed up earlier, here's a Sev Alex version (AE as/medallion):

    Great coins! My only Antoninus Pius, I think I posted it once before. 7A5F7AA4-8C43-4791-AFAA-5EA2BBA83BEF.jpeg B5004985-3182-4A66-A1B8-DF4D6CA27413.jpeg I really like the dirty toning on this guy.

    Andrew McMenamin Nerva You Mind

    Hello,

    This is my first post. I've been collecting since I was ten (just turned 60) and got into ancient Roman and Greek coins about 20 years ago. This is my most recent acquisition, just received it two days ago. I think it's a nice portrait of Nerva and the cabinet patina is beautiful. Love all the great coins posted above. It's a great hobby isn't it?

    Nerva, Æ AS, Rome;
    OBV: Laureate head r.; IMP NERO CAESAR AVG GERM
    REV: Aequitas (Equity) stg l., holding scale and cornucopia; AEQVITAS AVGVST;
    S-C across fields

    All the best, Andrew NERVA AS.jpg

    PONT MAX TR POT COS
    They are quite rare. I have 2 of them, simply because I've gone looking for them:

    Antoninus Pius RIC 1b.jpg
    ANTONINUS PIUS, AR denarius, 18 mm, 3.01g
    Obverse: IMP CAES AEL ANTONINVS AVG; laureate head right
    Reverse: PONT MAX TR POT COS; Diana standing right, holding bow and arrow.
    Ref: RIC III 1a

    Note: Struck July 138 AD before the consecration of Hadrian. Only 2 examples in the Reka Devnia hoard. That's fewer than some types of Pertinax. (Rare!)

    Antoninus Pius Denarius -- RIC 657a obv + rev.png
    ANTONINUS PIUS,
    AR denarius, diameter (not yet measured), 3.14g
    Obverse: IMP CAES AEL ANTONINVS AVG; bare head right
    Reverse: PONT MAX TR POT COS; Minerva, helmeted, draped, standing left, holding Victory in right hand and resting left on shield set on ground, spear resting against left arm
    Ref: RSC 657a, RIC III 2

    I haven't looked this one up in the Reka Devnia hoard list yet, but I imagine it is of similar rarity as the previous one, as both coins were minted in July 138 AD.

    Welcome to Coin Talk, Andrew. It's a great place to hang out.

    That's a nice Nerva you got there - er, your attribution note reads "Nero" however. And I think the obverse inscription runs something like this: "[IMP NERVA CAES] AVG P M TR P COS III P P"

    Just thought I'd mention it. Here's a link to OCRE with the three Nerva Aequitas asses I found:
