Hello everyone, I am new on this site, a few weeks ago I have buy a old coin from a garage sale. I don't know nothing about this, year, from where is it, if it a old one or a reproduction. Please if anyone have a similar or have the knowledge about this, let me know.
Like I said, I am not good in coins, I just want to start a collection and to learn more about "antique" old coins
The best I could do with your images: It looks like a modern creation, a silver imitation of a gold stater or distater of Macedon. The obverse is Athena wearing a Corinthian helmet. The reverse is supposed to be Nike but this one looks like a man with a pointy beard. The Greek letters on the reverse theoretically spell the name of the issuing king. I can't quite make out the letters but I think it may spell (or be trying to spell) Philip.
