Another self-slabber at it?

    If a lower-tier slabber just plain isn't very good at grading, it stands to reason that sometimes they'll undergrade rather than overgrading, even with an overgrading bias built in.

    Then there's the whole personal-erm-market-preference thing. Maybe Hagar just really didn't like the toning.

    Did anyone say that Alan wasn't a good grader? I thought the knock was that his grades were consistently 1-2 points higher than everyone else.

    Now - but there is no such thing as gradeflation - they're 1-2 points LOWER...

    Every time I hear or read that name, I am reminded years ago, when I started referring to him as Hagar The Horrible, the Viking Businessman cartoon character. It caught on, at bourses and hobby clubs.

    Is he still referred to in that manner? I don't get out anymore.

    I never understood the standards that Mr. Hager set for ACG. It all turned into a nasty court thing when many in the hobby did not agree with his standards.
