You guys are great. Not scared to shoot someone straight I see. So consensus is that they are all crap. Might as well trade them in for some dollar bills and just give that to my kid? Sound about right????? I appreciate all the info and insight.

And yeah, I don't think my pops was much of a coin collector. He was more into clocks. His house was just under 1000 sq/ft. and it was wall to wall clocks. And 95% of them made noises at the half hour and on the hour....:

 

Sometimes our parents do odd things. When my mother died I found just over 700 one dollar bills with a K on them. She was convinced the K stood for Kennedy and not for the part of the fed that printed them.
All things being equal it sounds to me like you would be more spot on picking out a special clock for your daughter. just my opinion and good luck whatever you do. James
