Here are a couple Morgan Dollars I picked up at the PNNA show yesterday. I thought I would do a guess the grade on them and see what you all thought of them. Any comments are alway's appreciated. A full show report will be coming after the reveal. First up an 1880-S Morgan Dollar And an 1885-O Morgan Dollar
MS64PL - maybe 65 if all that fuss on the cheek is just frost breaks. MS66 - I agree with dwhiz but I'll guess it didn't get held back. Very nice picks and pics
My thoughts exactly. I will add that i think they are nice coins. That cheek on the 85O looks very nice, and the chatter in the fields is sort of hidden by the toning
Some good guesses so far. But nobody has nailed them both. I'm curious as to what @physics-fan3.14 thinks of them.
First one I'm guessing 63PL. Since 65 is an incorrect guess for the second, I'm going to guess it was strictly graded at a 64.
Since my original guesses weren't correct, I'll say 65PL or DMPL for the first one, and 66 for the second one. IMO, a bit high, but I'm just guessing the TPG grade.
My guess on the first one is MS63PL and MS65 on the second one, solely because I have very similar looking 1885-O that has that same grade.
MS65 DMPL MS66 The disruptions on the cheek of the 1880-S look like luster grazes to me, not bag marks. The only thing that might hold back the 1885-O is the luster. It doesn't look booming but you are so good at photographing your coins with their best possible face that I have to conclude it is premium gem.
