These huge/tiny contrasts are really fun.

I wish I'd remembered to do a photo like that with this little thing while it was still raw.

That's a very cool picture, @ancientone ! I think your photography is just fine. I have this tetartemorion of Mylasa on the way, 6mm, 0.28g...

    tetar2a.jpg

At the moment it's stuck in the dreaded time warp known as New York ISC, but when it arrives I'll take a picture of it on this 65 gram Ptolemy and post it in this thread.

That's a beautiful tetartemorion, @ancientone. Sweet hekte, @lordmarcovan - let's see the reverse! And I'd love to see @Bing's eagle head over the head of the eagle on the quarter.

10x diameter difference: Tetartemorion from Lampsakos, c. 400 BC (6mm); and Xian Feng (1851-1861), 100 cash, Suzhou mint (60 mm).

Wow, some amazingly large and small coins, folks.

Here is a little Greek coin I found in an uncleaned lot:
    Unknown Greek AE1a.jpg
    ANTIOCHOS III AE, 223 - 187 BC, 11.9mm, 1.93g, Antioch Mint
Obverse: Laureate head of Apollo to right.
Reverse: BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOXOY to sides of naked Apollo standing to left, holding arrow in extended right hand and resting left on bow.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

Here are some selection from coin I currently have out and on my table to play with (new purchase, reshoot pile). A 40 mm modern AR coin from France (you may recognize from one of the recent JA auctions) and an 11 mm 1st century Indo-Parthian AE drachm.

    100_0420.JPG

The drachm "edges" it out in this dimension however!

Here are some respectable pics of these coins.
