I picked up a $3.00 item for my brother at the store and he reimbursed me with these. They look brand new. Somebody was hoarding some old BEP packs, I guess. ( My brother is not a collector, he obviously got these from circulation. )
This is a pretty good find. Whether they have recently come from old BEP packs is hard to say. The last note indicates that this may not be the case. I had a stunning find earlier in the year in a strap of ones. Within a strap of ones from the bank I found, all nicely together, three sets of old notes in pristine consecutive order. These were a set of three 1969 L-B notes, five 1977 L-C notes, and seven 1993 H-B notes. All I could say with confidence is that the notes clearly came from a collection. Aside from that, I will likely never know how many other notes may have been a part of this batch.
I’m guessing that as time goes by, and more boomers pass way, you’ll see more and more stashed currency being freed from safe deposit boxes and spent. The circle of life
It turns out that the notes were not from circulation after all . They were from some hoarded notes that belonged to my grandfather. So it's not that interesting after all, sorry . Next time I'll check the story first
