I guess that it is time to post the answer. First off, this is one of the cleanest (nick free) coins I have if not the cleanest and that includes several 67's. However, it does not have the shiny luster of most unc coins I have and it does not excel in the eye appeal line. Were I guessing, I would have said MS64.
that coin appears to have wear on the obverse and thus CAN NOT BE an MS anything, is it just the picture fooling my eyes - look at the cheek and ear - looks like wear to me... -Steve
Does not look like wear to me and I believe brown is the correct designation. I think a MS63BN accurate - I knocked off a couple of points for the flecks of discoloration I saw, but that was probably just the pictures. Nice coin!
I think what you are seeing on the ear and cheek ascii is discoloration, or just the pics. I could be wrong though, but I do know it is one heck of a nice coin! :thumb: Congrats Rlm. :thumb: Phoenix
Sorry about the pics. I sometimes have problems taking pics through the slab. Other times they come out great. I have no idea why, but this one is probably due to the flat coloring. I can understand the weak strike comments (due to the pics), but I do not see the wear on the pics and especially on the coin.
