Here's another coin I won in the latest Frank Robinson auction: Parthian Kingdom. AE chalkon (10 mm). Vologases VI (208- c.228 AD). Obverse: Bust of Vologases VI left. Reverse: Eagle left. Sellwood 88.29. Vologases VI has the dubious honor of being the last Parthian king. He took the throne in 208 but soon faced a rebellion from his brother Artabanus (either IV or V, depending on which reference you trust). Artabanus took over most of the Parthian territory, leaving Vologases in control of Babylonia. The vassal Ardashir V of Persis rebelled and killed Artabanus in 224, declaring himself Ardashir I and starting the Sasanian Persian dynasty. This coin is in better condition than most Parthian bronze. I won it at a final hammer of $67, which is quite reasonable.
