Another month old coin. I have a laureate bust of Elagabalus, I didn't have one with the "cuirassed bust". A bit scarcer, but not too much. Elagabalus (218 - 222 A.D.) SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Nice one Mat!! My only billon Tet of Elagabalus, Antioch Mint---a purchase from one of our members...
Sweet addition, Mat ... congrats on a great eagle!! I have my same ol' example as well ... Tell me ... ummm, isn't that Julia Paula Abdul's ex-husband?
I like those draped and cuirassed busts on tets, they give more majestic appearance to the portrait. I love the style of these large tets issued by Elagabalus. To me, they simply scream "Syrian". Lovely pieces.
