No disrespect meant Mr. Carr. Just not familiar with your work. Read your resume, very impressive. Good luck to you.
I MUST HAVE THIS PiECE FOR MY COLLECTION!! I'll be selling off my youngest child as he is a hard worker.. I hope you can appreciate my commitment.. Possibly the coolest piece yet , however the critics will probably find something to complain about ..
I think as you said as regards his talent, work, and products. I think some of his products aren't strictly legal, but then the Justice Department, in its discretion, is giving him a pass, as he isn't hurting anybody.
It would actually be an interesting series. All the blues greats. Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Freddie King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, oh and what the heck Johnny Cash, because he's the Man in Black.
They whine, probably because they're negative about everything. Perhaps they are too orthodox with their collections, and don't deviate to buy interesting pieces other than that which they are used to. The other alternative would be jealousy that they don't have the creative talent of Daniel Carr.
You know that's not true. It's just insulting. There is nothing negative or jealous about my opinion on the topic. I can't believe you would say such a thing.
I LOVE either version, but honestly I think I like the original smaller owl better.. He's now almost as tall as the moon, but he's a badass owl
Here's my latest Daniel Carr. I always look forward to the designs he comes up with, even the coins. This one of course honors the 100 year anniversary of the Panama Pacific International Expo in SF 1915, as the medal says. Super great design, his pics!
Today's DC token from my collection is the rare 2010 Stonehenge Test Pattern in Copper.. Total mintage is only 23 I purchased this from one of Dan's early collectors.. Just today after examining it closer for the pictures I found a corrosive spot on the reverse, which is disappointing for sure ..
I see the green area near the rim, it looks like "slime" rather than corrosion that has eaten into the surface. Acetone it ASAP. As for the spot more towards the center, that will likely leave a dark spot.
Here is an early rare Dan Carr piece. The tokens are from dies cut by hand at the ANA's summer seminar "Art of Engraving" course, Dan's is on the left, the common reverse die is not shown. Mintage for each piece was around 50, plus each student got a set that included all combinations of the dies. Did anyone out there get one when they were available?
