Question #3 When was the first flight across the Atlantic? And what type of plane was used? Completed
#3 was answered by 2 people. They had different answers, but may both be right. I'll have to look into this one.
Ok guys. Commidaddy answered #3 first with the answer I was looking for, which was 1919 in an NC-4. Flyers answered later with Lindberg's later flight, which I'm thinking was the first non-stop. But While trying to sort this out flyers10 got #4 right first which was the Sikorsky R-4. That makes the possible tie on #3 irrelevant. So commidaddy wins the cent for #3 and flyers10 wins the cent for #4.
And in case anyone wondered about the earlier questions... the B-52 A first flew in 1954 and B-25 Mitchell bombers were used in the Doolittle Raid.
Commidaddy and Flyers10, please PM your addresses, and I'll get those cents in the mail tommorrow or the next day.
Thanks very much to everyone who played. That was a whole ton of fun considering it was all to give away a few Lincoln Cents. Be looking for another contest from me this summer for my 3 year anniversary/3000 posts. It will be a much better prize! Thanks again!
Thanks Adam. I would appreciate if someone else like a YN or someone else would like the Lincolns that you send it to them. I have the rolls coming from the Mint now. Great contest and thank you much. Congrats commidaddy also!
