According to the internet, this was the most popular tune the year you were born:
Come to think of it, that tune really is a classic.
In 1948 we moved to Twelfth Street and that was a very popular tune on our ragtime Victrola.
cmp9ball, Thanks for posting this embarrassing statistic , & thanks to everyone else for the birthday wishes . After reading Ocat's thread & noticing Gratian shares the same birthday, April 18th, I can boast living three times longer than he did . Every year after I retired I made it a point to by myself a nice coin for a birthday gift, but this year that changed . Instead I bought myself a new vehicle, see the photo below.
I traded-in my 2015 Honda Accord Coupe (almost the same color) + 15K for this 2021 Mazda CX-30 mini SUV . The Honda was a great ride in nice weather but it didn't handle winter weather well here in upstate NY . This Mazda is a fun ride & has plenty of "bells & whistles" .
What an odd tune for 1948. Sounds more like 1928, not that I'm any kind of historian of that sort of thing.
I'm afraid all those syncopations will cause my joints to pop off like fireworks at Chinese New Year while I try to dance!
Happy birthday Al and troutrus!
I love Ragtime music . After hearing that toon I really feel old now ....
Hooray! I'm fifty again!
