This would include mint sets, proof sets, bank sets - in the hard cases that contain the P, N, D, Q, half, and in some years the dollar.

I've been watching ebay and these sell at varying amounts on ebay with the general trend the older the set the higher the price. I've seen these selling on ebay from a total cost (cost of item + shipping) of $4 up to $10 for date ranges from 1968 through 1992. Understand the 1968 set - due to the Kennedy.

Do these ever increase in value - really talking about those from the 70s on. Understand those in the 60s will be impacted by silver coins.

It sort of depends on the year. Some of those sets have increased in value quite a bit...but many are worth less than they were originally purchased for. It really depends on the specific set.

Is there any place where you can find values for these sets - or at least rank them in some way.

I think eBay is probably a good way online. If I were you, I would probably get a copy of the 2012 Red Book which has all of them listed and approximate values. The values aren't 100% correct...but it will give you a relative value of the sets to each other.

Knock 20% off the values listed in Redbook for closer to realistic values.

The most realistic prices are listed in the Coin Dealer Newsletter (CDN) Greysheet. This is what dealers go by when they are buying.

Thanks - looked them up on the web. Look to have a lot of info.

Just a general question - how fast do coin value change? Would buying a quarterly issue be sufficient?

I haven't subscribed for about 3 years, and to be honest with you, I can't remember if the proof and mint sets prices are included in the quarterly issue. Maybe someone who is a current subscriber will chime in.
