Didn't buy a lot of coins this year , but its no problem to show 10 coins I like best. Egyptian hockey puck: big bottle cap of Demetrios Tetradrachma of his son Demetrios II 2 Denarii 3 large bronzes and my first 2 large Byzantine coins That's all folks
Nice coins all around! The Aurelius Sestertius is my favorite with the Albinus denarius a close second.
Fantastic Ptolemaic! 80 grams!!! If it was a hockey puck it'd break the ice Also, big fan odd the bottle cap (they're hard to find in that good of condition), MA and Faustina are wonderful as well
Plenty of reasons to like those - a less common Clodius Albinus Asclepius, 80g Ptolemy, and Minerva with shield on Geta are favorites - all nice coins!
Lovely list @Andres2, thanks for sharing. I love the "hockey puck" coin. I recognize that Geta, it was on my "watch list" but I never pulled the trigger because I have one of the same type with a similar level of detail. Bravo on winning it, it's a fantastic coin. Here's mine. I think it's from the same reverse die as yours: Geta (as Caesar). AR denarius, Rome, 202–9 CE; 3.10g. BMCRE S446, RIC 34b, RSC 104a. Obv: P SEPTIMIVS GETA CAES; bare-headed draped bust r. Rx: PONTIF COS; Minerva standing front, head l., leaning on shield and holding reversed spear. EF.
Great group of coins! I especially like the temple reverse on your big Marcus Aurelius bronze, and the Minerva reverse on the Geta denarius.
Andres2, You did well this year with an interesting variety ! My favorite is the "Egyptian hockey puck". This coin type in choice condition is getting very expensive. The 1st A2 Byzantine bronze is a handsome coin . With Marcus Aurelius spending so much time in the field, I wonder if the 14 kids Faustina sprouted came from him ....
A terrific group, @Andres2! I have to say that my favorite is the Faustina II sestertius with the four children on the reverse -- the equivalent to the denarius I bought not long ago. It's lovely.
Great additions, congratulations on a great coin year. I like the clodius albums and the reverse of Geta is great, but my favorite has to be the sestertius of MA.
Fine selection, Andres! My favorites are the MA Temple of Mercury and that awesome Ptolemaic hockey puck.
I agree with Donna...this could be the first time I use the word "adorable" on a coin, but that is....adorable!
Wonderful coins @Andres2 . My favorites are the hockey puck (80 g of heft!) and the Marcus Aurelius / Temple sestertius.
