I bought many coins this year to complete my 12 / 18 Caesar sets in both bronze and silver. The Bronze is complete, but still lacking 2 Denarii for the silver set (Galba & Julius Caesar) I finally found that akward XVI roman republic denarius I like, only issued in 141 - 140 BC ,countervalue is 16 Asses up from 10 asses. after 140 BC back to X or X with a bar. 7 Roman imperials: especially like these 2 greek bronzes: Merry Christmas to you all Andres
Really nice example @Andres2. I particularly like the Claudius/Nero (maybe because I have an example).
They remind me of coins that I would have bought had I seen them first. None are perfect and all have a lot to recommend them. My favorite is the mussel.
I like the RR transitional Denarius and the Mussel. All of them are MY type of coin! Well done @Andres2 !
My favourite is the Grynion, I think the facing portrait on it is quite exceptional. I’d love to that Republican denarius as well. Nice catch!
Love the Republican denomination. I'm now looking for one of these. I like the Antoninus Pius, too. The rather 'naive' style appeals to me. It almost looks like an ancient imitation.
Nice list Andre! Many of those coins have a lot of eye appeal despite the wear, it takes skill to pick them out.
I love the mystery of this transition: X or 10 Asses, to XVI or 16 Asses, to * for 16 Asses, then X or * for 16 Asses! Although we think it an odd transition, if you lived the times, I am curious how all of that devaluation was communicated or executed in everyday life... Merry Christmas @Andres2 ! I REALLY like that muscle! Claudius and Nero double head is also killer, as is the toning on that RR denarius!!
