And I thought this was a forum to talk about coins. Silly me.

I thought we weren't going to point fingers and name names. If you want to say what bothers you, go ahead, but leave the names out. I thought Doug already said this.

Little late as we're 3 pages in. Besides the person of whom this thread was started posted to this thread and removed all doubt as to whom we are speaking of.

It would be an awful idea. It would make it difficult to peruse the news topics and decide what might be interesting. Furthermore, the toxic nature the forum and the thread is very disappointing and reenforces my sentiments that it is minimally of value. A quite Sunday night when there is almost no action here is not a bad time for a few jokes and jibes.

9 Threads in 10 minutes is a far cry from a "few jokes and jibes"

Jeeze, for once I agree with Detecto.

If I remember right, areich is a "neighbor" of Rubens, so of course she would take his side.

I have to laugh out loud again! LOL!

When I visit a forum, I act according to MY own rules.
    Specifically,

    1. If I see a thread which I know what it is and don't particularly care for, I don't open it. If I happen to open a thread which turns out that I don't particularly care for, I close it and move on to something else!

    2. If I do open an interesting thread and see comments within the thread which have little to do with the subject matter, I mentally ignore them much the same way I ignore what other folks are talking about in a restaurant.

    3. If I see nothing I can comment on in a thread I've opened that isn't constructive to the thread, I just don't respond. I do open a lot of threads which I do not comment in.

    4. If I do not find anything interesting on the 1st page of a forum, I move onto some other forum. If I happen to come across a bunch if threads which I think are simply eBay trashing threads or "looky at what I saw in eBay" threads, I move on knowing full well that on some other day, I'll find an interesting thread.

    5. I understand that not everyday can be a fulfilling and rewarding day on coin forums, as such, I try to not let my disappointment in the daily forum be my guide for what I post or talk about. I try to keep to the subject matter provided I do have something to say.

    6. There are lots and lots of coin forums. A person could blow a full day doing nothing but getting involved in this discussion or that discussion. I try to NOT let my life be controlled by coin forums. When I get bored, I do something else as these forums are simply not that important. They can be very informative but there's only so much information that can be shared before you start seeing it come around again.

    Lastly,

    7. I understand and fully realize that these forums are open to the public. As such, I understand that the public is as unpredictable as the weather so I don;t even attempt to control the forums. Thats the moderator's job and if things get out of control, I remember my rule #6.

Yes, this is a coin forum but lots and lots of non-coin related stuff gets posted. It doesn't bother me because I can always go to some other forum knowing full well that tomorrow, things will be very different.

I don't see any point to it. Detecto, that is Tim, is just irrate because I tried to auction off a 1982-D circulated Roservelt Dime with White Mead Envelope and Postmarked Commemerative Postage Stamp as a Benifit for Coin talk, which costs a lot of money to run. It's just one of the many things I do in order to help others and keep things lighthearted and interesting.

Moderators will do whatever moderators chose to do. I won't argue with them in public and I will not undress anyone in public, not even someone who lies in a shoe box in his mothers house under a bed, a situation that must desperately reduce the width of someones vision.

Not that anything should be made personal, but if you have a point to make, I'm listening. BTW - your not correct. I know this was after you joined, but very little was said, and the details of what happened are not as you described, not that it is anything wrong with that.

Well, I certainly agree that there is at least one. I leave it to you to figure out which one it is. I'll send you a 1982-D dime if you figure it out on the first shot.

I doubt that Larry had only one member in mind when he started this tread. And I don't think that it is too late for us to stop acting like children. This is a wonderful site with plenty of knowledgeable members ready to help anybody with a question, we should not ruin that. Can we get back to coins now?

For whatever it is worth, I generally post the news threads about midnight or later, when the forum is very slow. Because I don't post on Saturdays, on Saturday night, after Shabbos, I can post 2 days of articles. But NOBODY is here on Saturday night besides me and wd50 and the pigeons (sometimes Mandy). On the recent holidays which were two and three days, there was a few more than usual.

In any event, if many of them don't get attention it is simply of function that most people couldn't identify an Indian coin if you stood up and started to chant the Vidu. Aside from that, they couldn't find Nigeria or the UAE if you pointed right at them. This is not my fault. There are a lot of interesting things going on the coin world and they are not all about finishing your Roservelt Dime collections, or sowing off your latest ASE.

We are numismatists, and of course, we can, and should, carry ourselves with manners and civility.

I will say Ruben does present a few decent arguments regarding his news posts. Perhaps this past Saturday and Sunday evenings were a bit busier on CT than anticipated and the number of Rubens posts may have been interpreted differently than he intended.

Your just not getting it. I'm going to repeat myself in perhaps the most clear and concise manner possible.

Number 1. The BST section is the ONLY place to hold an auction. You started an auction in the non designated area. I'm not going to allow ANYONE to disrespect this forum and get away with it.

Number 2. As it has been said before....NO ONE minds you posting links to other sites. The problem (read this carefully and maybe 2-3 times so it sinks in) is that your posting a bunch of new threads all at once. This buries other threads. You posted 9 threads in 10 minutes.

No, it is simply because it's annoying. No one else here on Cointalk posts threads on auto-fire.

Maybe if you would spread your threads out, once every hour, or make ONE THREAD with all the links in it, we would not be having this discussion.

Personally I have nothing against you Ruben, but we wish you would change your behavior in order to not deluge the forum all at once.

Oh we get it. You are not a moderator, and you think you are. Just because you've run afoul of the moderators so often that you've almost memorized the rules, still does not make you a moderator. You even threatened to ban Ruben in that auction thread before it went away.

Who is "we". Do you have a gang? Have you been elected to some office that we are not aware of?
