Yup, it's just a 5 minute bike ride from where I grew up!! => God's country!! This was the view from my bedroom window when I was growing-up ... => living on Vancouver Island and looking across at the States (Mount Baker, Washington-State)
I lived in Oregon for a couple years, had a good view of Mt Hood. Loved my trips to VI, etc. Gorgeous country. And now... you live in Upper Man... Dude.... Good thing you are retiring soon.
I'm so jealous of you people who live in places where you can stare out at 10,000+ foot mountains. Here in Florida you can travel 300 miles and never see the elevation change more than 5 feet. I remember once going to a town on the side of a 3,500 foot mountain in Spain, and my eyes had trouble believing it was real. To some of you, that height might seem boring, but to someone from Florida that is the most magical and amazing thing in the world to behold.
Are you nuts? Those kinds of places generally get mighty cold while we're sipping margaritas (or drinking beer) in the warm Florida sun.
Guys should try living in NYC. Nothing here but ambulances, taxis and whatever else blasting their sirens/ horns. You'd be lucky to see any part of nature besides the trees in the parks. But of course traveling to upstate NY is a completely different thing, its the closest place to get close to nature.
See ya in 2 weeks ... cheers => oh, and please don't stroke TIF's ego too much ... keep her fricken honest!! Have a great August
Cheers, Steve! I hope you have a fantastic time with your family. Steal a cousin's computer occasionally and drop a few CoinTalk comments .
Who else would take the photo? They are 5 Canadian girls. No, this was the view to die for. Ask Harry Truman.
When I lived in Portland, OR, this was Mt Hood... Mt St Helens was 2 hrs away driving time, but "right-there!" when you flew into the Airport... It actually plumed about 11,000 ft when I was flying in to Portland. Pilot came on and said we were IMMEDIATELY landing as the ejecta was extremely corrosive on engines... we NOSE-dived! It actually was a fun experience for me, and I DID see it plume (way-COOL!). This pic is NOT the same plume, the one I saw was only 11,000 ft, but much more than this one. I betcha Carthage did not see too many volcanos... Carthage - Zeugitana AV 1-10th Stater-Shekel 350-320 BCE 0-94g 7-5mm Palm- Horse Head
