Good stuff. I've been wanting to get some of these, as important bits of US colonial history. I know they aren't hard to acquire, but I don't feel like I've investigated them enough to make an intelligent collecting decision. I like yours, though, and would be happy to have them.

What is the source of these splendid photos of the radiate Augustus and Ara Providentiae? Please contact me at: bernard.d.frischer@gmail.com THANK YOU!
Haven't read this whole thread but whoever bumped it, well done Here's a token I really enjoy made for Luke AFB and is unlisted in the standard reference. It was purchased from a man who darn near completed the same goal as me - a complete set of Air Force trade tokens. He said he collected all of them except three over the course of 30 years and is "punching out" because his children have no interest in them. Please excuse the poor photo - at the time I took the picture I was deployed with only a cellphone camera and I left it in the holder because I didn't have a new one to put it in. What I find particularly interesting about this token is an obverse with the two aircraft and an ornamental reverse. The obverse allows for some clues about when it minted: the F-15 not arriving until the 70s and the F-16 in 81 or 82 (I can't remember). So this token was likely not minted until both aircraft were at the base at the same time...I think the F-15s left in the late 80s, but I'm too sore to check my noted To keep this thread honest, I want to post my favorite an isn't this week: Kyushu II. This coin is large, thin, and the dies were beautifully engraved. It is also a little brighter and more colorful in hand. I haven't attributed it yet so please don't spoil it for me!
I have too many favorites to post for now, but the 'currency' posts got me thinking...and the older the item is the more I desire it...thus, my unlimited passion for Ancients. How about some Confederate Currency:
I've been wanting to get in to Confederate States notes...but I've been to distracted lately with Ancients to pursue them. Cool collection! Since we've been posting notes, here are mine: My favorite: Since I only have three I posted them all.
Cool Military Payment Certificates!!!! I wonder if Bing has gone into this area at all...I guess we'll soon see.
Like traveling or collecting? This is something else that has been put aside right now because the ancient bug has me by the tender spots! Do you have the reference for those CSA notes? If you don't I could look them up for you, probably tomorrow...too much pain today to get it down.
