Hey, since we're already speakin' of paper, Mat ... this sweet Canadian paper-baby always seems to get a few "wows" REVERSE: RCMP Musical ride dome formation (very cool)
I love foreign currency, always more colorful. Really enjoy the plastic ones too. Our currency in every way is boring :/
The current plastic $50 is also a total winner (yup, it's pretty hard to beat an ice-breaker for a reverse, eh?!!) ... very cool ... ummm, but not nearly as cool as that sweet 1975 RCMP Musical Ride note (but man, they had far cooler "paper" money 40 years ago!! ... no plastic)
Well here's my new favorite, Diocletian..299-303..AD Ae ..Follis, Carthage 27mmx 11.06g. You just got to love this reverse!!

This thread's got legs! Nice favorites all, or as our brother from the British Commonwealth Great White North spells it: "Favourites." (You know I love you Stevex6!) OK, my last favorite was a Roman coin. Here's my favorite Greek coin. Syracuse Hieron II (274-216 BC) AE Hemilitron 27mm Bronze Coin. OBV: Diademed head of Hieron II facing left. REV: IERWNOS in exergue; horseman prancing right, holding couched lance. (Calciati II pg. 380, 383)
Here is today's favourite *whateva* ... a few more blasts from my "modern-collection" George-V (above) is the Grand Father of lil' Queen Elizabeth (below, in French & English) ... she looks pretty in pink, eh? (very cool 80 year old paper-notes)
it's been neating looking at some unusual stuff. here are some other not ancient coins i've picked up half way recently that are cool. here are some spanish colonial cobs, they are hammered and overstruck/counterstamped in a way that gives the most busy byzantine overstrikes a run for their money. ...and here's my avatar coin, german notgeld.
Today's fav not only is fresh from the Besançon coin fair (don't Google, nobody knows where in Hell that can be), but also quite fresh from the mint, hence my "favoritism" ! Here's my first Lizzy I coin, a 1591 six pence : Q
Love that, really nice JA. Great currency Steve. Wish I could afford to dabble in them more but its spotty at best. Cool six pence Cu.
