Should we forget Valerian II who died just before his younger brother Saloninus became Caesar? There has been disagreement on which boy is shown on some coins. Valerian II Saloninus My page on the matter: http://www.forumancientcoins.com/dougsmith/feac68sal.html

Very nice coins you guys. I thought there was also a debate about who were the parents of Saloninus. I can't really remember right off hand. Welcome back Bing. Let's see some of those coins you picked up over there, assuming that you did. When you get around to it. Here the non-scanner photo of the coin. This is one of those moments where I wish I had a real camera. But I keep buying coins instead of getting a camera. lol
Thanks Gil. No, I never had a chance to shop for coins. However, I was in a town called Bydgoszcz, Poland which was just happening to have a display of Roman coins at a small museum. The coins were on loan from the Warsaw and Berlin Museums. I took picks, but I haven't uploaded them yet. I also visited the castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork, Poland (formerly Prussia) and I saw the Book of Kels in Dublin. All in all an interesting trip. But sadly, no coins.
nice new saloninus GG! I don't have a saloninus or valerian ii. hope you had a good trip bing...sounds nice. lets see those coin pics!

Well, it's a tetradrachm of Alexandria, Egypt. That much I can discern. have you got a camera with a macro setting on it, to take a sharp close-up?
L Z means Year 7. These were dated according to regnal years, so we would have to know the emperor to determine the year the coin was minted according to the Gregorian calendar.
