I have no clue, I notice that LRC have many unexplained letters in the fields. Perhaps it's the workshop? Nope, sorry. Now this is comedy.
i can't believe nobody here like ancient c.o.i.n.s! warning: explicit lyrics who got change? coins to continue! who got change? coins to continue! this is my current favorite coin, it will be a different one tomorrow.
Slightly suspect tune, but awesome lookin' coin, chrsmat!! (oh, and those abnormally small hands make the coin seem even larger than life)
Ummm yah, I kinda wanted to post another one of my swell coins ... oh, but I really just wanted to hear another very cool ol' classic tune from my "impressionable years" ... => please post your sweet coins & your kinda tunes ... cheers, comrades!!
It's actually kinda funny, because although i love those ol' classic tunes, I rarely listen them anymore (*sigh*) .... Ummm *awkward* ... I do find myself listening to "Hedley" lately (they're Canadian ... ummm, do you even know them? ... is it wrong that I like 'em?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=masmCmLPyxw => anwyay ... my wife wants dinner and I also need to do a few snow-chores, so I'm outte here
Yep, nothing says high school like Alice Cooper. "School's Out For Summer" anyone? Here's a coin & song pairing with only a few degrees of separation. KINGDOM OF PERSIS, Vadfradad (Autophradates) II Mid-2nd century BC AR hemidrachm, 2.06 gm Obv: head of Vadfradad right with short beard, wearing diadem and kyrbasia adorned with eagle Rev: fire temple, Ahura-Mazda above; to left, Vadfradad standing right; to right, vexillum standard surmounted by eagle Ref: Sunrise 578 + The connection: The coin has Zoroastrian iconography (fire temple, Ahura-Mazda); Farrokh Bulsara (aka Freddie Mercury of the classic rock band Queen) was born and raised Zoroastrian.
Thanks TIF ... I thought I was listening to tunes by myself, so your sweet and amazing-classic Queen addition was a cool addition (thanks)
queen is fantastic...here's one of my favorite queen songs, a lesser known tune form the same album as bohemian rhapsody. here's my favorite classic country song, bing may know this one.. here's my all time favorite group since 1988, countrymen of stevex.. here are 3 coins i really like..
And this seems like a fine place to reprise my PINK FLOYD / ANIMALS in Ancient Coins presentation http://prezi.com/q7mw1k1zur65/pink-floyd-animals/ Can't link it here like a YouTube video. Click the link, let it fully load, maximize the screen, hit play.
Would that be 2013? I suspect if we ask your wife she might say you have been "Impressionable' since you fell into 'Bad Company' among Ancient Delinquents Online. My coin is one I have had for years and is not on my 100 image shown before but still a nice coin. The Magnentius is the blackest coin I have and hard to photograph since all you see is its glossy blackness. I did nothing to it to make it black but I am paring it here with Fusco's Song by Catie Curtis. I found this live version online but really liked the album version better. Fusco was a friend of the singer who died. Fusco, in Latin means 'I blacken'. I'll bet none of you ever heard it and none of you will be fans but you all know I'm different. I do like Back in Black, too, but AC/DC has been done here.
I've met Catie and enjoyed her music many times. She's a friend of one of my old songwriting pals; she dropped by our songwriting group a couple of times. It was a treat. The timeframe was around her Truth From Lies album and the eponymous followup.
chrsmat => awesome .... I'm sure that you'll be jealous to know that I saw Rush "live" performing their "Permanent Waves" concert in March 1980 (Victoria, B.C.) .... I was 16 years old, flyin' on our West Coast local magic-shrooms (they grew in our backyard) and oh, I don't remember a single fricken thing (it was awesome!!) .... yah, I vaguely recall my Mum picking us up at the bus-stop (amazingly, Mum never asked me anything about that night ... obviously, she knew) RIP, Mum
