Nice => great new addition, Z-Bro (I'm flattered) ... ummm, but I actually coin-stalked mentor when I scored my sweet example (the three of us should work-on a cool secret coin-handshake, eh?)

That is HILARIOUS! When I was a kid, I found a bunch of old 78's at my Grandparents house...that "Istanbul, its not Constantinople" was one of the songs we played several times!

They Might Be Giants write some really funny songs, so for the longest time I thought that was an original. I found out later it was a remake of an old '50s song, written in the 500th anniversary year of Constantinople's fall to the Ottoman Empire!

The '53 version by The Four Lads was the original I listened to. (Hey, @stevex6 , they were a Canadian Quartet!). However, the Giants did a good remake.

Curious? => does this song totally suck, or is it a winner?

Funny, because I used to chuck crap at it 40 years ago, but it makes me smile (ummm, or have memories) today ...

... yah, I know that it's a bit gay, but it does bring-back memories of going to the lake as a kid (good times) ... funny how songs take ya back in time, eh?

Oh, and here is a random cool coin ...

LOL, we used to sing it as "We had joy, we had fun, we went STREAKING in the sun..." And, yes, we used to streak... :)

Oh yeah, I was totally into that song. 7th grade, I think. Had it on a 45. (That's a 45 rpm "single" phonographic record, for you youngsters :D)

This is hilarious. Some comedian (Jon Benjamin, who is not a musician, who does not play piano) recorded and released an experimental jazz album. Real players... except for him and he's on piano.

Frankly, when I listen to "real" experimental jazz piano it usually doesn't sound any less discordant, nonsensical, and ridiculous than this... which makes this album even funnier. The other players are clearly technically good-- they're pros, they should be.

I'm going to buy this album. It sounds like a ton of fun.

Album title: Well, I Should Have... (subtitle: Learned How to Play Piano)

Check out this outstanding track, I Can't Play Piano :D

(I had to load the link through proxy server-- if you're outside the US you may have to as well)

Interview about the album on NPR.

I'm going to listen to it at work and pretend that it is good :D

Whoops, forgot to add a coin

Celtic, "Little Dancing Man" quinarius. From his uncoordinated pose, he's probably dancing to "I Can't Play Piano".

yah, yah ... I realize that the nights that I post more than one music-coin are probably the nights that I've accidentally sipped a bit too much ...

    "guilty"

However, they're also the nights when I stumble across the best old tunes from my younger-days ...

... man, I love resurrecting fantastic old tunes ...

That song tickled my funny bone. The contrast between what the band can do and what he can do is ludicrous, lol. I've got one for you. Click at your own risk.
