[Ancients] It’s Time! The Second Annual Coin Imperator Tournament (2018)

FINALLY!... The Finals!
It's been a long and fun journey this year. We doubled our participation from last year with 32 participants and 30 head-to-head matches to date. We have gotten to see some great coins and some fantastic write ups from all of our participants who have really gone above and beyond this year.

and we still have 2 more matches to go before we call it a year!

Perhaps the best thing I can say about the game this year is that it has been universally friendly and educational. To me that is what sets this CT group apart as a great community.

Been a longer day at work than I had planned for and my work firewall has learned to block CoinTalk from my work internet connection... rats!

I will be posting the bonus round shortly.

I will probably hold off on posting the championship till tomorrow during the day so it can close at a reasonable hour.

 

They are thinking to block an engineer from accessing a website??

 

I know!... don't censor me IT. CT is a totally legit engineering reference.

 

I was thinking more like you'll VPN a whatchamacallit around the firewall and wrap IT's ethernet cables around their silly little protocols. Or something.

Our second to last match just closed and we now only have the championship before we can call it a year.

This match has already closed but if you haven't seen it I would say it is still well worth a read for the fantastic write ups and cool coins shown off. Hometown coins from Gaul and Epiros go head to head.

There is still time to cast your vote in the championship match, but don't wait because it closes tomorrow afternoon. This is certainly a match worthy of the finale. A beautiful piece of art from a master die engraver goes up against a coin that is also beautiful in its shear... gorgon-ness. Good stuff!

After the Tournament
Keep your eyes open for one more bit of fun after the close of the tournament because our new Imperator will get to celebrate his/her triumph and we will get to see what charity will get the pledged donation this year.
