Does anyone else think that Severina unfortunately looks just like her husband Aurelian but with a slightly different hairdo?

Doug, the oldest I can think of is Octavia with Marc Antony but I can imagine there being an earlier issue.

Sorry did you mean eldest in age? Livia got up there in years, same with Sabina I think.

Mark antony wife was the first roman female depicted on a coin, Octavia. Flavia is aslo depicted on some coins, expensive too :-(

Two pretty nice looking coins. If you didn't mention those are peacocks on them I would have never guessed it.

    Nice sestertii Steve.
Yes, sestertii are the kind of stuff that can stand some wear and still be attractive. In my young age I've had some kinda weakness for them too :

So I have been saving my money and probably after the holidays will start buying a coin a month, given that my job situations stays the same.

My first purchase will be a Ptolemy coin of giganticness.

After that, my plan is to buy only females on coins. The goal will be to collect as many different ladies as possible. My question is, and it seems relevant to the thread which is why I'm asking here, is there somewhere I can get a list of ladies on coins? Or is that not really possible?

    Thanks!

Are there other women who were featured as well? For example, guys who minted their moms or wives? (And a possible list of those?)

Lord Geoff => ERIC II has a list of 207 Roman Rulers and/or their mates, etc ... that is what I use to determine who is who (it also has a nice "rarity rating list", for lack of a better description) ...

I really like my copy of ERIC II, but it was quite expensive (however, I'm pretty sure that you can download it or parts of it) ... you may want to look into that option?

    Cheers

Sadly I have yet to acquire any ladies. So, I will content myself with liking all the great coins I'm seeing here.
