    I recall seeing a very cool thread about a month ago (by Mikey-Z) which featured his cool Victoriatus addition (great thread)

    => at that time, I didn't even realize that a Victoriatus was a coin denomination ... but that thread open-up my eyes and lit the coin-fuse ... here is the link to that sweet thread (you rock, M-Z)

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/rr-victoriatus-2nd-punic-war.269385/

    Yah, so after walking-by my favourite seller's example during the last year, I finally decided to make him a sweet offer and he accepted (he rocks too)

    :rolleyes:

    ... anyway ...

    Regardless, this sweet morsel busted my monthly budget!! (but I love it)

    *tick*

    => Victoriatus is now checked-off of the ol' infamous coin-want-list!! (complete!!)

    Hey, it may not have a sweet secondary-symbol, but this puppy still managed to win "best-in-show" .... good dog!! (*wag-wag-wag*)

    ahaha, nope ... hey don't get your tighty-whities in a knot (I'm still totally coin-spastic!! => I'm all over the board!!)

    => I merely hadn't purchased an AR-RR for a while ... plus, like I said "I now have a Victoriatus" example (*tick*)

    I like you, my sweet big bro!! ... there will still be enough AR-RR coins to go around!!

    :rolleyes:

    By the way, my last two recent coin-purchases weren't RR's (they were Greeks):

    a) bee counterstamp

    Lycia Termessor Bee Counterstamp.jpg

    b) that sweet Syracuce Hiketas-II chariot thingy

    Sicily Syracuse Hiketas II.jpg

    ... remember?

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    What a fantastic example! Look at that huge flan!

    I'm also more interested in these smaller Republicans type due to recent posts by @ancientcoinguru , @Alegandron , and others. I'd like to add a quinarius at some point.

    This one came from a mixed lot and I've grown to appreciate it more than when I first saw it.

    Carthago Does this look infected to you?

    That's a really nice example. And the coin isn't bad either. ROFL!! :smuggrin:

    Seriously...good style, perfect centering, and the toning looks like you have an old collection coin there with a pedigree lurking someplace. I looked it up in CoinArchives and couldn't find it. Do you know who the prior owner bought it from who put it in the Best of Type on Forvm?

    I failed to find it on Forvm's BOT pages but I have zero use for that concept since most coin comparisons are a matter of deciding which of several factors outweighs the others. This is a very nice coin BOT or not.

    Thanks for the coin-compliments, gang ...

    Carthago, I have asked my seller for more coin info (history), but he hasn't responded yet (all of his coins seem to be entered under "Minos" ... I can always tell by his bare-handed coin photos)

    Nice! TIF mentioned the flan size, but I've seen a handful of these types that look very similar. I think they made the dies smaller than the flans as a matter of course, which was quite considerate of future RR collectors.

    => Doug, you're 100% correct once again ... man, it must get boring always being right?

    Oh, and I already mentioned above that my gorgeous example doesn't have a cool secondary symbol on it (some of them have cool pigs, dogs and/or other cool symbols on 'em)

    However, I'll certainly accept the BOT title (it certainly doesn't hurt, eh?)

    ;)

    Please post some of your stuff ... thanks, fellas
