... I started trying to research the counterstamp (Ammon) ... I found this kinda interesting ... plus, it allowed me to post this cool coin from Carthage, with Tanit: CARTHAGE Æ20 Circa 300-264 BC Diameter: 20 mm Weight: 4.79 grams Obverse: Wreathed head of Tanit left Reverse: Horse’s head right; palm tree before, pellet below Reference: MAA 57m; SNG Copenhagen 175 Other: 7h … VF, brown patina with some light earthen deposits
i've posted this a couple of times, but it's my only counter stamped coin...and it was given to me my ENG...so i'll post it again... this coin must have been worn to the bone back in the day...the bust is a slight bump but the counterstamps are mostly very sharp...helmets and lettering on the obverse, a dolphin on the reverse. my picture is bad, counterstamps better in hand.
By the way ... "tomorrow" the wife and I are taking-off on our 2-3 week vacation back to BC to see my dear ol' 90 year old Dad (the dude is money!!) anyway => I am hoping to have a great time, but I am "not " gonna be loggin' into and Coin Forums, so I'm sure that you guys are all gonna be happy to take a break from my style of coining? => regardless => I am gonna miss having coin-contact with you dudes!! Cheers, my awesome and sometimes mis-fitting coin-dudes!! (you guys rock!!)
