    Happy Birthday to Mentor!!

Yup, I'm not sure if he'll be happy, or mad? => but it's good ol' Doug's birthday today!!

So, in his honour I think we should all thank him for his awesomeness and we should post any coins that Doug has helped us with in the past (with his nice comments and/or with his blunt, yet useful critiques!)

Happy Birthday, mentor => you are the heart and soul of this ancient coin-site!!

    Cheers, coin-bro!!

Here are merely "9" random examples ...

Doug liked it, but wouldn't have bought it due to the lack of mint-mark (lesson learned)

Doug "loves" this coin and thinks that they made a mistake by putting it into a group-lot (which I stole for $600 => for 4 x coins that are "all" winners)
    ant 1b.jpg

Doug said my coin was average, but he wouldn't have bought it due to the lack of snout (lesson learned => centering and symmetry are crucial)

    augustus b.jpg

Doug loves this over-strike coin => he told me to go for this coin, or he'd go for it!! (so I went for it)

    Boeotia Federal Coinage Overstrike.jpg

I original purchased an AE-cast coin (eagle and crab onkia) ... but this Trias (4 onkia) seems to be the one that grabs his attention
    akragas Trias.jpg

according to Doug, Allectus shouldn't be considered in the same coin-gang as Marius and Victorianus (my notes have been adjusted)

    Allectus.jpg

This is one of the first ancient coins that I ever purchased (Doug likes this coin) ... when he told me that this coin was a winner I was hooked!!

    ancient1.jpg

sadly, somehow Doug talked me out of this coin (I think? ... there was something anyway and I'm blaming Doug)

Anonymous AE Quadrans Bull & Serpent.jpg

again, Doug liked this coin and said that he'd buy it if I didn't (I came-up big and threw the money down!!)

    Anonymous Overstruck AE Triens.jpg

=> there are countless more examples, mentor => thanks for all of your atta-boys and your smarten-ups (they're all good!!)

    emoticon cheers too.gif
