Germanicus is correct. Caligula does look similar-- not surprising since he is the son of Germanicus. Caligula portraits tend to have a higher forehead and slightly upturned nose.

    This As needs a reshoot.

Nick, it's Greek. Doug posted it fairly recently and when I thought I knew who it was, I did a search (cheated ) so I'll sit this one out. I was right though :D

Problem: I have a lot of coins but when you subtract the ones without ruler portraits and the ones with ridiculously obvious ones (like all my Septimius Severus coins), I'm running low on coins I have not shown. I admit posting this in response to:
Here is another clue: I don't consider this Greek but the current Greek government would according to another recent post. We could ask what 'Greek' is from a coin standpoint.

That's funny because I was thinking it looked so familiar but just assumed it was Roman!

I wish I had a gold coin of his. At least I'd know for sure it was good gold.

Ah, now I have a good idea as to who it is. I've already guessed so I'll let someone else get it.

    Is it a Greek provincial?

The clue about good gold referred to this king and his science tech associate famous for his principles still taught in high school. The clue about the Greek government referred to the thread showing Greek paper money decorated with Italian (Magna Graecia) coins which the current Italian government claims as theirs. The king in question is not shown below but his city is.
