    I do have right facing Gryphons but not from Abdera.

    Here are three different denomination coins from Teos.

    Teos, Ar Drachm, Circa 540-478 B.C.
    Obv:– Griffin with curled wings seated right, forepaw raised
    Rev:– Rough quadripartite incuse square
    Minted in Teos, Ionia. Circa 540-478 B.C.
    Weight 5.68g. Size 16.44 mm

    Rev:– Rough quadripartite incuse square
    Weight 1.08g. Size 11.93 mm

    Obv:– Griffin with curled wings seated right, forepaw raised
    Rev:– Rough quadripartite incuse square
    Minted in Teos, Ionia
    SNG Kayhan 600 (called tetartemorion); SNGvA 8018 (no symbol noted); cf. BMC Ionia p. 311, 15 (ivy-leaf)
    Weight 0.270g, Size 7.5mm

    Symbol variety – RRC -. Babelon -. BMCRR -. Dolphin wrapped around anchor / Hippocamp
    The only known example.

    Symbol variety – RRC -. Babelon -. BMCRR -. Shoe / Sandal. Another unpublished symbol pair with five examples currently known. This is likely the best of the five examples. (according to Richard Schaefer at the BM)

    Curious though? ... even if I squint my eyes, I can't make-out an owl and/or a crow with open wings?

    Wow, Altar and "Lighted Altar"!? ... that's very cool ...

    That Lighted Altar is probably one of the first ancient light-shows? (awesome ... that's the best Gryphon yet!!)
