=> I hear ya (my Dad started goin' blind in his 60's ... I'm now in my 50's) => maybe I'll be going from coins to "life-size" ... could still be fun, eh? ... history is sooooo cool ...
I just turned 51. Never thought I would make it that long. Got back into coin collecting about three years ago after a 25 year hiatus. When I was 33, I didn't think I would make it past 34, that was the age that Alexander the Great died in Babylon.
I'll be turning 45 in August, in case anyone wants to buy me a birthday present . Which means I've been collecting ancient coins for just over half my life... hard to believe it's been that long, and still so much more to learn.
I believe that was only because of the high infant mortality rate. If you survived childhood you probably had a good chance to live a long life.
This is very true. Once someone had made it past childhood the chances of living a decently long life were pretty good. http://www.livescience.com/10569-human-lifespans-constant-2-000-years.html
Wow a bunch of geezers, lol jk I turn 50 in 10 days. Just send me coins it'll make that half century mark seem so much better.
Very true, I barely know a single person my age that has such an interest in (Ancient) Coins and the history. At coin stores I always end up in discussions with people over twice my age..
