@ Arturo.. The lettering on your coin is Phoenician. I can recognize it.

Perhaps it is similar, but I know it as paleo-Hebrew, both ancient Semitic languages.

That is correct. Both Phoenician and Hebrew are Semitic languages, along with Arabic . They are read from right to left. Now if you turn the side of the coin with a Wreath 90 degrees clockwise, you will read Sheen and Ayn ( E and O ) in similar resemblance with Latin but with total difference in pronunciation. The combination of these 2 letters is very common in the Phoenician language and it's found on most archaeological sites. I don't know exactly what it means but it could refer to the Sun. Hope I made an idea.. I've encountered this combination many times.

The three letters on the obverse are shin-mem-ayin, spelling Shemah, the name of the central dogma of the Jewisj faith, the statement "Hear O Israel the Lord is our God, the Lord is One." It is also an abbreviation of the name of the rebel leader Shimon or Simon Bar Kokhba, of the final Jewish revolt against the Romans 132-135. Thus we know it is the obverse because it refers to the [self-styled] Prince of Judaea. The rebellion was crushed in a bloody battle at Bethar. Of course effigies of humans were forbidden by the 2nd Commandment prohibition against graven images.

So glad am I to read these historical information. Does the word " Shemah " mean Candle in the Hebrew language.

Shema =hear ner = candle ohr - light
BTW transliterations are tricky, as is trying to summarize Hebrew grammar for an English speaker.

I am no expert at these but I can give it a try. I suggest you post each one separately in their own post. It will get more attention.
