Wow, you coin-gangers are awesome!! ... thanks so much for participating and showing-off your sweet Clodius Albinus examples (outstanding) => Man, now I want an AE sestertius example too!! (I love those big brass babies)
dlhill => thanks for tossing-in your gorgeous example (very cool coin & photo) Ummm, are there any other examples out there? (Bueller?)
Good looking Minerva, Steve! nice, appealing coin. Your example has an unusually (for the type) nicely detailed reverse. Most come flatly struck, like mine: Clodius Albinus denarius, Minerva. Rome mint. Clodius Albinus Denarius, Rome mint - Romae Aeternae. Clodius Albinus Denarius, Fides Legion (to the loyalty of the Legions), Lugdunum mint. (note the different style of the bust compared with the Rome mint issues).
A rather poor sestertius of Clodius. Reverse 'appalling', but a really nice bust in my opinion. (can't complain for 80 euros or so!)
