You could consider a new thread with a link to an older thread if you found one that had information that was pertinent or useful. Separate threads for new pickups almost always garner more views and comments. Nice reverse on that one, btw.
I have a few fun ones I can add here. One coin is in good condition while the other is in terrible shape. One is Aurelian the bodybuilding soldier while the other is Aurelian the creepy-necked man... but both are awesome. Aurelian AE Antoninianus. Siscia Mint, Autumn 272 - early 274 AD. IMP AVRELIANVS AVG, radiate, cuirassed bust right / CONCORDIA MILITVM, Aurelian standing right clasping hands with Concordia who stands left. Star T in exergue RIC Vi, 216 Aurelian, Antoninianus, 270-275, Period III, Cyzicus, Officina 4 IMP AVRELIANVS AVG Radiate, cuirassed bust right RESTITVTOR EXERCITI Mars, helmeted, standing right, spear in left hand, holding globe with emperor standing left, scepter in left hand D in middle field XXI in exergue RIC V, Part I, 366
A really nice example of a great emperor. This is a really nice struck coin. Probably my favorite ancient I own. Enjoy.
I have a couple of Aurelians: AURELIAN: Aurelian the "Beer Bottle" (Neckus Longus) RI Aurelian 270-275 CE AE Ant Concordia-Milit Aurelian "The Stout" RI Aurelian 270-275 CE AE Ant receiving Globe from Jupiter WIFE EMPRESS SEVERINA: RI Severina Wife of Aurelian 274-275 CE BI22 Antoninianus 3-14g Rome mint Crescent Concordia RIC 317 AURELIAN having to put up with VALABATHUS of PALMYRA: (Then he stopped that crap after sacking Palmyra) RI Vabalathus 271-272 CE and Aurelian
I edited your image because it looked like it might be a really nice coin (it is) but those nice details can't be seen in your dark images. Lightening the images helped but it deserves a reshoot
Looking at the OP photo, the mintmark looks like P* to me, rather than V*. @dougsmit , is it clearly a V in hand?

OJ's second example has a very long neck. Here is another Aurelian with a long neck: 22 mm. 3.12 grams. ORIENS AVG, Sol standing left rising right hand and holding globe in left, captive at feet left, S in exergue. RIC V.II 276 Serdica mint, page 296. Estiot, Serdica 1006 issue 5, beginning of 274.
That's awesome! I was gonna get it out of my safety deposit box over thanksgiving and take better photos of it, but thanks!
