Scarce issue. Dark brown-green patina with scattered deposits. Good fine.</p><p>Comments: This coinage appears to have been struck in the aftermath of the First Punic War (264-241 B.C.), when Carthage faced a serious revolt of its mercenary forces. This conflict, known as the Truceless War (240-238 B.C.), resulted in the rise of Hamilcar Barca to prominence and provided a Roman for intervening in Sardinia.
