I started collecting Ancients in 1981 and I completed the task of the Twelve Caesars in 2012; however, I wasn't always actively collecting the Twelve. I had a few and I always said I wanted to collect the set, but not until 2008 when my son had a shadow box made to house the twelve did I actively seek the completion.

 

... you always were a bit of a slow learner, eh?

 

Yeah, but I got to ride the short bus with all the other special kids!!! Besides, as one of the Smother Brothers used to say, Mom always liked me best.

Looks like my first car.

Though for a ford pinto, it ran well, but not for my dad, lol.

You're very welcome, and thanks for the interest. I tried to take a pic of the shadowbox, but the glass had too much reflection no matter what angle I tried. I'll try again later after the sun goes down.

 

Actually I'm quite interested in seeing the shadow box.

All my ancients are just set in 2x2 flips in an album, nothing special.

 

I remember that glorious day back in 2012. I was still very new to collecting and I thought that was totally awesome. Still do as a matter of fact. lol

 

Well, here are the images. Not the best, but, when I have more time and better lighting I can try to better.

 

Thanks for remembering. It was, and still is (to me anyway), a significant feat and accomplishment.
