I love the Axum too. I am convinced it is the best condition specimen in the world. At least I can't find one nicer-I challenge others to find one better-then show me hahaha.
Got some more Greeks up and a lot more in Asia Minor- if you guys are as excited as me-don't be I put a Roman in Europe just to throw those guys a bone. I have yet to put the info in out side of name and date. I did put the info in on a few Asia Major coins- go findem'. Let me know, if the albums are too broad and if I should try to organize by culture?
Eh-heh-heh => I have started a fairly lame first draft of my "albums" ... The hardest part is determining how to seperate/display the coins ... I have randomly chosen Archaic and Roman Republicans to start ... it looks a bit like trash at the moment, but I'm hoping that "over-time" I will tidy it up a wee bit (go take a peek ... make sure you view all pages, for it seems like it's a bit of random mayhem at the moment) Man, I feel like a kid with his first book essay .......... *epic fail*
Ok, since were dinking around, how do you change the verbiage, under My name, from Senior Member to what i want????
I've been thinking about imaging/posting some of my coins. Particularly the ancients since I just started collecting them. This thread has been very helpful. Thanks for starting it Ancientnoob and thanks to all who posted! :thumb:
Jerry, my only criticism (or suggestion if you would rather) is that I would like to see the coins information when I look at your coins. On the other hand, you have some beautiful coins.
Dude => cut me some slack ... I just started last night I will eventually add-in the all important written info (for sure) ... Ummm Bing, the real question I have is: => How did you (and others) get the obverse photo and the reverse photo situated together? (sadly, all/most of my photos are x 2 ... an obverse photo and a reverse photo) ... ummm again, how do you get them so they are "combined" => plus, that way I'll only have to write-out the info once, rather than having to copy it onto the obverse photo and the reverse photo ... Man, I can just hear the young engineers back at my office, laughing at the boss's complete lack of computer skilz!! (those little *******s!!) anyway => it's bad enough that I am asking computer assistance from my "more senior" friend ... but I know that you have the skills, for your albums are "awesome" (well done my old computer-savvy friend ... well done!!)
You can only upload one picture into each of the album slots, so your picture has to have the obverse and reverse already combined before you upload it. It's easy enough to do with an image editor. You can do it in Paint, for instance.
Hey little buddy, I use Picasa, a free on line photo editor. It's relative easy once you get the hang of it. But in your case, I would ask the engineers that work for ya.
I use a image editor to join obverse and reverse images of a coin. Specifically, Paint Shop Pro. Open a new image, open each side of the coin. Copy a image and paste into new image as a new layer. Move into position and then do the same with the next. Then crop the large empty space out around the coin.
Paint Shop is a relatively expensive program isn't it? With Picasa (free), highlight the two images and select create collage. Simple.
I finally had some success here with the CoinTalk albums. Today I created a RaceBannon Roman Imperial album. I also uploaded obv then a rev photo. Compared to you guys, my albums look somewhat, well OK really amatuerish. But like SteveX, I consider them a work in progress. I can devote a lot of time uploading the attributions and info on the coins.
