When I buy a coin I enter all its info like legends, size, weight into a text file I have saved then once it arrives I verify everything, usually the weight is sometimes off, then I will edit as needed then copy/paste the text into the gallery. Simple as that.

Do the copy/paste when a post I new coin here also.

    Lol John Anthony,

It's easy job and I would even prefer my gallery bigger than it is

I have my personal Coin Catalog I maintain on my computer with all the salient information, i.e., acquisition date, amount paid, attribution, weight, size, etc. Then when I add to one of my on-line galleries (I actually have three now - talk about redundancy) I just cut and paste. I find it easy once you get started. But it was time consuming when I did my first gallery. Now the key is to keep up with it as the acquisitions come in.

I went to sign up for Forvm, and found someone has already taken the name Windchild...
Now to think up a new name for Forvm.... :(

Great to see I can post my whole collection in one spot... I have a few pieces most non-US coin collectors wouldn't understand why I like them...

An excellent place for a coin gallery is on omnicoin, I haven't updated mine in quite some time but you can catalog coins from all time periods and locations.

Use -1 after your site name like I do.

I decided on WindchildPunico for my Forvm name... My main areas of interest are the Punic Wars, Roman Britain, Roman Imperatorial and Non-classical, this represents my collection well..

Anoobs Gallery is up and in progress..

I have just begun my gallery here on CT. Feel free to check it out. Its still a work in progress and only about a dozen coins are up and only like a quarter of them have the particulars added in. Feedback so far is always appreciated.

Very nice! The one I like the most is the coin with the horse and the Victory-like figure (nike?) on the other side.

I really appreciate all the kind comments. For me its areal honor to be able to postem' up. There is a shortage of people in my life who appreciate my ancient coins as I do. I just added more to Asia Minor and Asia Major. Most are in there with only location and date. The other infos will be a work in progress. Right now I'm just trying to get them up. My Roman collection is a lot smaller and less impressive than most collections, they will be up soon. Soon the Seleucid coins will be up, some of those are my favorites. Keep your eyes peeled. I will be fillingyou guys on this thread as more become available.

I appreciate that you took the time to add the attributions to your coins. Being new to ancients, it's a good education for me to go through albums and read the attributions. Bing's got a great set of albums as well.
