Ancient: Shapur I

Hey, A-Noob ... I was very worried that you'd given-up on ancient coins altogether (the last that I heard from you, you were liquidating at break-neck speed) ...

=> I am hoping that you're now flush and that Nooborn is able to eat tenderloin and is wearing some uber-cool baby outfits?!

... oh, I almost bought a cool Celtic coin last week (similar to your cool Celtic coin with Athena on the obverse and a sweet Celtic chariot rider and horse on the reverse ... but sadly, I was outbid) ...

... anyway, I thought about you when I saw that cool coin (I hope that things are cool in your worlds, my ol' coin-friend)

I was just going by styling. My poor SNS books are still packed up, along with Gobl and Michiner, so I can't pull them out to check either. Always remember early Shapur II coins are of high style, only later in his very long reign to they devolve into what I call "Intermeditate style".

 

Ha steve flush never, tenderloin at least 2x a week, nooborn always has cool outfits. I sold a few coins. I got a bit burned out and I have been messing with Japanese swords. Im still around. Always will be. Need a Celtic coin? Wink.

those are fantastic AN, i've REALLy got to get a shapur i. but i like how on that second coin the attendants on the reverse seem to be part of the altar..more like support columns.
