    Hello,

I’m trying to find out any additional information on this item that I recently purchased. To my knowledge I think it’s either a glass tessera/token or a weight for weighing precious metals from ancient Roman Egypt but that is the extent of my knowledge for this item. The item is approximately 18mm by 16mm and weighs approximately 1.8 grams. Does anyone here have any additional information in regards to this item? Please see the attached photos and please let me know if you have any questions. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Best Regards,

    -Kyle

I'm as puzzled as you are...but perhaps @Ken Dorney or one of the others can help.

I don't know how to tell authentic from fake but hopefully someone else can give advice. As for the person on the tessera, my guess is Apollo. I don't see anything about it that says "Roman Egypt".
