    Here is a countermark that I have not been able to identify. My best idea is that it is a double-struck eagle countermark of 7th century Syria. The host coin is a bronze of the Valentinian dynasty.

    Nice => very cool countermark, Ardatirion ....

    hey, I scored "3" coins in today's auction (the first is shown above, "but" was meant to be posted in my other thread)

    => the other "2" coins will have threads of their own .......... ummm, I'm always curious to know if my new coins actually look better or worse in hand => and "you" are on the front-lines, ya lucky dawg!!
