Aww... thanks for the kind words, guys! AMCC has definitely been a labour of love for me, but @Curtisimo is right, it has also taken away from other kinds of coin time, including CoinTalk time. I do really enjoy running the auctions, though, and I like to think I'm providing a valuable service to CT members. (Surely more valuable than the posts the work has displaced, at any rate!) Plus I've learned a lot from handling such a variety of coins that I wouldn't have had a chance to otherwise. Considering just these tradeoffs, things could actually work out in AMCC's favour!

Except for one thing: the number of hours in a day. What prevents me from continuing with regular auctions is really just the sheer amount of time involved. ID'ing, writing up (properly), and photographing 500+ coins plus the extra work involved in systematically organizing them, dealing with the biddr system, acquiring consignments, communicating with consignors & buyers, and mailing, is pretty massive. My life is simply too packed with other things for me to take the auctions on as a regular thing, even only once a year. (My wife used to be able to help out more, but now she has her own small business to look after.) In addition, this problem has caused unavoidable delays, which have made my consignors have to wait far too long... which is unacceptable to me. When I started this thing, I didn't truly appreciate the time (and energy) it would take. Rose-coloured glasses and all that.

If I can figure out a way to resume, I will. (Maybe Amazon will start carrying extra hours to add to your day, or something!) Meanwhile I'd better get back to work on the photography I have to do today!

Once the auction's all wrapped up I have no doubt I'll be spending more time on CT.
