Eduard awesome Otho, i was looking on wildwinds and there is a large bronze with Julius Caesar on it, sounds very pricey.

Chris, i emailed Marc at Ancient Imports, which puts on part of vauctions and asked about any info. on Madroosi. if they send any info back, i'll post it...

Vlaha, all i can say is to many video games...

Doug, your Domitian denarius has a wonderful early style portrait.

And Steve, your later Domitian has one of the better styled "Flavian Baroque" portraits. Very choice.

    Two very awesome coins!

I got a reply from Marc at Ancient Imports, here's his quote...

"Madroosi" is an old friend. It's a nickname from like 20 years ago and actually is a corruption of the last name of a guy that never paid for coins on Ebay. He calls me Fenelli, another guy who never paid for coins...it's frat house humor but he didn't want people to know that the coins were his....I think it has to do with his wife not knowing about the money!
    All the best,

    Marc

So we will never know who Madroosi is it might be Stevex6..:p

New verb: hiding coins from your wife = madroosing.

I madroosed a lot last year and got caught. Now we need a word for getting caught.

I guess after 46 years, my wife can read my body language pretty darn good. It seems I can say whatever I want, but she knows the truth.

I don't hide anything from my wife. In fact, I try to tell her about my coins, and to her credit, she listens very politely as her eyes glaze over.

i try not to do any madroosing really.....i think it reduces the amount of hot water i get into in the long run. today we had..."spirited negotiations" about how much i can spend on a coin from our tax check, but we've arrived at a figure.

    soon...soon.

Fantastic coin Eng! I can't wait for mine to arrive.

I don't hide much when it comes to the gf regarding coins. She isn't a fan with how much I spend sometimes but I may or may not bribe her every now and then with a nice bouquet of flowers.

I also occasionally attempt to explain coins to her and get much the same reaction as JA.

I love my wife more than anything ... ummm, and I never, ever intend on madroosing (usually, I have visions of saving cash and riding my white steed into the backyard, rearing-up and shouting => "all debt is gone, my love"!!)

... but then the hammer crashes-down and I stagger-back with four unfamiliar coins in my hand ...

wha?-what? ... what on earth has happened!!?

Then the theme-song for Wagon-Train starts to humm in the background .....

    => yaw mule, yaw!!! ... giddy-up Oitaioi, giddy-up!!
