Heres one I'm having trouble finding that came from the lot. It's one of the Ptolemy issued pieces but it's only like 14-15mm. I didn't see any this size with this design.

Tip - that's a harpa to the left of the eagle. You're going to want to look here:

The owner of that website is currently helping Cathy Lorber write a new standard reference for the rather tricky Ptolemaic series.

That eagle looks better than the most of them on US coins. WOW!

Ardatirion: Is LD's coin nicer than the plate coin on your link?

A point: Diameter is nice but weight means more. It is possible that you will find a 15mm bronze that weighs 1.5g and another than weighs 3g. Of course a corroded coin loses weight so you will find things that don't match anything. Some authorities paid a lot of attention to weight but many also issued a certain number of coins from a certain amount of metal and paid little heed to individual weights. This means you have to be careful being too picky or not picky enough and learning which is which is not always the obvious part.

I think LostDutchman's is a little bit nicer.

I am of the opposite school - I tend to believe that a combination of design and weight is more important. Minute differences in weight would be virtually undetectable to the user. Of course, in the Ptolemaic series, weight, and sometimes even die axis, are quite important.

Awesome guys! thanks for the help. I don't think that little guy is too bad of a find.. I'll post more of the strange and unusual as I get time.
