A more recent photo of me: I’m one, my avatar gives away my heritage. Born and raised in US though. Here’s a coin I received a few weeks ago, a Lucius Saturninus denarius, 104 BC:
Thank you, though if I'm honest, I could probably stand to lose a few pounds...if only I could make the time to hit the gym. Anyway, @jamesicus , here's my son and I recently. From my side he's Cuban-American of Spanish descent (Catalan and Asturian). From his mother he's of Scottish and English descent, and can trace his lineage back to the Mayflower pilgrims (there's actually a book from some society whose name I now forget that tracks that, and he is now listed there). Isn't that the story of America in one person? Second generation American and descendant of the original European settlers to the colonies all at the same time.
That is a wonderful father and son photo that bespeaks a lot of love. And what a handsome young man he is - congratulations! It is indeed a great story @Sallent - and what a great lineage! We are kinda like kinsmen.
Big day in our household today. That last picture in the sequence was just taken. C'mon, you'd rather see this than some picture of me, right? (Those are my hands in the first newborn photo.)
Me and some high school friends yesterday getting together for the BOURBON AND BEYOND music festival in Louisville, Kentucky. I am second from left in the blue shorts. See— not so nerdy after all.
I like that presentation m’lord! And a beautiful daughter to present! I must admit I really did enjoy looking at those pictures more than one of you
Sorry I haven't been very active. Getting busy at work trying to wrap things up before my trip. Here's some of my hiking clothes as it's going to be shilly where I'm going in Europe to hike (40F to 65F). My Tilley hat, leather gloves, lightweight winter jacket, scarf, etc. Im also getting my hiking backpack ready and got new hiking/trail running shoes for the trip. I won't be around much until the second week of November when I'm back.
Well I don't have many pics to chose from hope this does not offend anyone. This is one of my other hobbies besides ancient coins.
Being in a trail on the side of a mountain at 40F is not the place to discover you didn't bring warm enough clothing for late fall conditions. I do have a light sweater and a set of warmer weather clothes in the backpack in case the temperature goes above 65 F or 70F, though I doubt it will get that high. A more real possibility is that in some of the trails I'll take at 4,000 to 5,000 feet in elevation, it could go as low as 35F briefly at altitude between sun down and and early morning hours.
How dare you sir. I am extremely offended.... extremely offended that you didn't invite me because that sure looks like a hell of a lot of fun.
Just giving you a hard time. Although, this is what I consider cold..... It was just past 50 deg below zero with 35-40 winds. Not sure what that makes the wind chill. About 80 miles from the North Pole in the Arctic - February. That's ice on my mustache and eyebrows.
