I've been wanting an octopus or two and got a couple last month. Good examples can get a bit expensive... this one was the right combination of good enough quality and reasonable price. Love the facing head!

Awesome octopus, TIF ... wow, congrats!!

Yes, I really like the ol' turned-head look as well (gorgeous coin) ...

I also have an octopus coin, but it is merely a side profile shot!! (it is not quite as top-drawer as your new sea-purchase)

    Diameter: 13.1 mm
    Weight: 0.67 grams

I really like the contrast between the lovely but pensive expression of the nymph and the decidedly malevolent looking octopus. And even more so because in your photo with the two sides next to each other the octopus seems to be creeping off flan toward the nymph.

Didn't see the need to start a new thread :)

    Here's #2, with a hippocamp.

Had a heck of a time trying to take good pictures of it and still am not happy with them, so here's the seller's picture, with the background made black 'cause that's how I like it.

    That's a happy-looking hippocamp. I wanna ride!

Wow, TIF => a hippocamp and an octopus => sweet coin!!

Hmmm, I wonder which sea creature was considered more dangerous by the good ol' Greeks?

I wanted to post a coin to represent what floats on top of the sea where I live, but just cannot find a coin with a turd on it?
